Fore!

By: Mary Falaschi This picture I took at a Boys Golf meet for Rogers High School. I was trying to get a picture when the golfer was trying to hit the ball far and catch the swinging motion. It was hard for me to get this picture because we were only allowed to take picture before and after the golf hits. I was happy with this picture and I thought that this one turned out the best. I really liked how the pink in the golfer’s socks stood out and the stance he was in.

I like this photo because I know him and his bright pink socks give the picture something extra. This picture has a center focus and shows for, middle and backgrounds. I like the crop of this photo because it is not too tight and there is not a large amount of unwanted space. You can see depth of field in this picture because the background is blurred out a little bit. I feel as if this picture gives me a focused mood. He seems so determined in this picture.

The composition could be worked on a but, even just some simple rule of thirds. I do like the timing of this shot though, his pose is perfect. There is quite a bit of chromatic aberration on the golf club and subject, which can be fixed easily in post-processing.

Great shot! The focus is good as well as the depth of field. This is a typical golf shot and next time you might try shooting from an angle where the face is more visible. For framing you might consider cropping out the bag on the right just to clean up the photo a bit. The building in the background is a little distracting but there isn’t much you could do except trying an angle where the background is trees.

I like how you have the picture as a portrait to get the grass and golfer in. I think you did a good job making the photo look non posed for just looks very natural. Your lighting is great, you really made the grass pop out and the socks as well. Nice Job!--Megan M. PHS
