Needle in a haystack

By: Katie Trent

I took this photo on my front porch this October; we have a fall theme set up. I really like how the hay looks bundled up. I took this on a day that was kind of gloomy so it wasn’t so bright and summery looking. For this photograph my camera settings were set at, ISO: 100, shutter speed: 1/60sec, and my aperture was F/11. This photo uses the rule of thirds and also fill the frame.

I like the detail that this picture has with all of the hay. It is very clear and I like how the light of the picture gets darker as you move right. It also fills the whole screen and is very representative of Autumn.

I love the color of the hay and the dark background. The hay is clear in focus and defiantly fills the frame. The shadows and highlights remind me of harvest.

Well done, I really like the close shot filling the frame but still getting some thirds in there. The hay is a great yellow, good job!

This picture I pretty good for a hay stack! I like that not the whole thing is in the photo otherwise I don’t think that it would look as unique as it does. You used a good rule of thirds in this picture and the lighting is almost perfect. This makes me feel like I’m right on a pumpkin patch.

I like how the hay isn’t centered but is still the main focus and how the texture is really apparent which makes it interesting.
