City Sidewalks

I took this photo in Seattle on our Photo 2 field trip. I had an image somewhat like this in my head that I had been trying to create, with the leading effect that it has. I liked that the sidewalk seems so quiet and empty, and the leading effect makes it seem like it goes on forever. On Photoshop I lowered the saturation almost entirely and used gradient around the edges of the top and bottom of the frame.

I like the old style feeling of this photo a lot, it works. Positioning of the subjects is good, lighting and focus is great as well. I don’t know if I like the gradient starting at the top of the picture, but otherwise, great photo.

What I like about this photo is how you can see down the street so far. The element of composition is lines. The lighting is great. The mood reminds me of the ocean, I’m not sure why but it does.

I like this photo because of the pathway the artist choose to used. Mainly a city street that is empty and in black and white. It makes it seem to be empty and like back in the 60's when it wasn't as busy. This photo takes it back to this time and makes it seem safe and at peace in a busy city. A place you would and to live.

This picture is really old fashioned. It makes me think of Mayberry and I love the small town aspect. The black and white really makes it feel like an old, small town. Good job!

I like how everything leads down the walkway. The black and white look really workes well for this photo!

this is a cool shot. i like the angle that it was taken at. its not at eye level. the black and white woks well too. the lines are good and lead your eye down the path. it looks like a old time photo the way it slightly fades at the top. good job with the position of the trees in this too. they also lead you and keep your eye focused.

I like how the bottom of the photo is dark and the top of the photo gradually gets lighter. Using that technique I realized that it causes the eye to look at the entire picture as a whole instead of my eye looking at just one thing. This picture is interesting to look at; the distance of the sidewalk and the height of the building.

I really love this picture. I feel likes its early morning, & everyone is still asleep. Also, it kinda has the ghetto feel too it. very nice!

Your blog keeps getting better and better! Your older articles are not as good as newer ones you have a lot more creativity and originality now. Keep it up!
And according to this article, I totally agree with your opinion, but only this time! :)

The set up of this photo is very well thought out. Pulling the photo up larger I realized that there were two people at the very end. I thought it really completed the photo nicely. Lowering the saturation that low took away a lot from the photo in its self. I think it would have looked nicer a little higher bringing more of a classy modern look. Either way though this photograph is quite eye appealing and draws a lot of people to the picture.
