Sunset Boat Ride

Photo by: Kaia Jerome This photo was taken at the Tacoma waterfront during sunset. I attempted to capture the boat in motion, as well as the pink colors of the sunset. I like that the water is clear of any other obstacles besides the boat, and the horizon of hills in the background. The texture of the clouds creates a cool effect as well. If I could change anything it would be for the boat to be on the left side of the photo leading in so it had some room.

This picture is really cool. The purpleish theme of the picture is great and the the boat being off center is also cool. I also like how the sunlight reflects of the boat.

This is a great photo. The horizon line is perfect and the colors and reflections of the sky and the water are amazing. I love how the sailboat is reflecting the sun off the rear of the boat. Very good work!

This is a truly beautiful photograph. And the rule of thirds being used really draws my eyes to the boat. The colors are amazing and it’s nicely in focus. I wouldn’t change a thing. Good job!

This is such beautiful picture. I love how the horizon meets the ocean and how the boat is off centered. I also like all the calming colors and where the sunlight hits the boat on the side. Great job!

I love this picture because of how the sun hits the boat and because of the amazing colors of the sky and ocean.
It also is a good example of rule of thirds.

This beautiful photo shows a great example of rule of thirds with the boat being on two lines of the thirds and the horizon and the clouds both make up two lines of thirds nicely. I wish the boat was a bit more in focus and the background a bit less but the picture still works well how it is. I really love this photo because of the color scheme. I love the red hints in the clouds and the red sky and the orange highlights on the boat and how it works so well with the blue in the clouds, sky, water, and in the shadows on the boat. Very good job, I’d hang this on my wall in a heartbeat.

I really liked how you used the rule of thirds to draw my eye to your main focus. I also liked how calm and colorful the background is with the sunset. I like how you captured the horizon in the back with the mountains because it makes the picture more unique. One critique I would make would be to use depth of field to make the boat more in focus, and the background a little blurry. But overall, it’s a calming picture and I like it a lot!

Nice shot. Great job composing this shot using rule of thirds and making the horizon line straight. The lighting in this scene is great and proportional. One thing I might suggest is adding a bit of saturation to bring some colors out of the sky. Unless you are going for a plain look color wise, that would be an easy way to take the sky from bland to a bit more colorful. Just remember not to over saturate.
