Splintered Edges

Photo by: Ryan Legaspi The detail of the cracks and splinters in the edges of the splintered fence is what really caught my attention in this photograph. I used a Nikon D40x with a Macro Lens to take this photo, and the subject is the circular black spot. I really like how the focus exposes the texture of the wood, and the composition of the cracks in the wood.

It’s a little tricky to tell what this is a picture of at first, which I like. This picture makes you look twice at it; a good quality considering the number of images available to look at there are. The depth of field is just perfect, but the colors seem a little off to me. The orange color looks a bit bizarre in the out-of-focus part, but overall I really love the effect that was captured.
