Snack Time

Photo by: Sam Frasier This photo was taken for our ‘Still Life’ assignment. I had to provide extra light to make the milk really stand out. My shutter speed was 1/1600 because I had to get the milk splashing, and I wanted it to be very crisp. The difficult part was how to get enough light in the picture, because I was inside. I really enjoyed this assignment, and I think this is a pretty cool photo.

I really like this photo! The focus is very sharp and event the milk which is in movement and splattering everywhere are really cool! I like how the photo is balanced and neither of the subjects are really the primary subject but together they work together to create a really nice piece! I really feel like this photo captures the essence of childhood and that it really brings the viewer back to their childhood! Overall, its a great shot and a definite keeper!

This picture is a good photo, I like it. The colors blend well together and the mix of brownies and hot coco goes great. The white on the picture that makes it looks like it’s snowing inside the house. Great job on this photo.

I love this photo and it looks great for the holiday season. The effects that you added were great with the milk splashing making it look like snow falling on the inside of your house. Also, there is great depth of field and the brownies look delicious! (:

I like how this image how a theme going along with it. I like how they had milk swishing in the cup and were able to catch an image of it. I think they could have put like a napkin or something out to grab the reader’s attention more. Good picture

Great job with this photo I enjoy how you adjusted the shutter speed in order to capture the milk splashing. Also I like how you took the picture inside and still managed to get good lighting. Well done.

Exceptional photo. You did a great job with creating a clean sharp, image of the brownies as well as enhanced the main subject of the photo with more exposure on the subject. I also love the "movement" you implied in the photo with the splashing milk. Spectacular photo.

This picture makes me hungry! Its portrays mood really well. I like the color of the mug and how it contrasts the brownies. The depth of field is really good. The splash is out of focus but you still managed to capture it. Great lighting also.

I really like how you timed it just right so you caught the milk splashing. At first I thought the drops were drops of snow that you photo shopped in trying to show like winter time. This is an excellent photo.

I like how they caught the motion of the splashing milk. All the little milk droplets and the brownies are in focus, with the cup and the wall blurred. Being able to see this difference, you can really see the motion. The droplets catch your eye as you look at the picture. I like the colour of the glass with the wall; it makes it stand out more.

This picture is awesome! I love the holiday theme that you brought out through this picture, and the “homey” feel it gives off. I like how you used the Rule of Thirds to draw my eye to the brownies, but then also used Depth of Field by making the brownies in sharp focus and the cup blurry. I can tell that you used a fast shutter speed to stop the milk in midair while it was splashing, it looks really cool. It looks like you put a lot of thought into coming up with the concept for this picture and it was definitely worth it…good job!!

I love this photo. The focus is great, the colors flow and you added a ‘splash’ to such a simple scene. Without reading your description I didn’t know that those white circles were milk. I thought that it may have been photoshopped in to make it look like snow. Anyways, great white balance, depth of field and rule of thirds.

This picture is great. It makes me think of Christmas time when the house is warm and there’s treats and milk. The brownies are in good focus and it has good depth of field. I like how you froze the action (Milk spilling). Overall this is a great photo!
