Focus

This photo was for a Depth of Field assignment. We had to duplicate a photo from the internet, and I picked this one because I really like it. This picture was kind of hard to take because I had to get in real close, and just focus on one word, which was the word “focus”. I would have liked the picture better and would have gotten even closer if I had a macro lens, which I didn’t at the time.

I think you are right when you say that this was a hard photo to mimic. The fact that you had to get in really close and focus on one line of the book makes this a really challenging shot; but I think that you pulled it off beautifully. I also think you did a really good job on capturing the depth of field. I really like that the book looks kind of run down and burnt too.

Very simple picture but also very clever! I like the idea and that you used the word focus to focus on. Cool picture though, its very creative.

Definitely a very clever idea! I really like how blurred the top words are, and then how the words fade to white at the bottom.

What I like about this photo is that the picture is focused around the word focus. The element of composition being used is depth of field. With the foreground in focus and the background out of focus. The lighting is good and the focus is good.

I love this picture! I like how the word focus is the most focused. You didn’t really follow rules of thirds. I like how you have the light coming from the top and bottom. This is a very good idea! Good job.
