Gloom

This photograph was a part of my fall theme assignment. It is not what people would normally think of a fall theme, but if you look closely you can see it is the emotion of the picture that makes it a fall theme. The sadness in her eyes replicates the feeling of the dying trees and the cold wind and rain. Depression falls upon many people in fall, this picture of a sad student mirrors the emotion of fall.

Unless I read the description, none of this would have screamed "fall" to me. Other than the fact that's it's a little underexposed, it's still a good picture. The emotion in it is perfect! Maybe having her around a bunch of bare trees would help convey the sad and depressed feeling more. That would also help to create a story and add more depth to the photo and engage the viewer more.

I completely have to disagree with you Kelsey. The dark colors and the emotion she shows in her face is where the "fall" comes from. Tasha was thinking outside of the box. That is what photography is all about not just taking picture of some boring trees and calling it a fall photo. The emotions of fall are all shown in her face. I love this photo. The creativity is great! Awesome work (:
