In this photo, I definitely wanted to capture the short depth of field. I really liked how it turned out, even in the original version. In this version however, I antiqued the photo in to kind of give it an old, rustic look. And Ryan was a great model!

This picture is great! I love the colors that are in it. I could see this picture on a billboard because it is such a great message.

I love the depth of field in this picture. I also like that the hands are lighter than the rest of the picture so that it really brings out the hands. This photo grabbed my attention because of the color of the picture.

I love the short depth of field used in this photograph. Also how in focus the fingers are with the person out of focus in the background. It shows a strong message and is very well done. Good job.

Focus and exposure are great and that shallow depth of field was a good choice. Would have preferred a less distracting background, something without lines, and for it to be all black and white, but it is a really nice photo and well composed!
How his hands are the single center of interest!
Single center of interest/Depth of field.
It’s the perfect lighting for the mood of the photo.

Love the dept of field. i love the color of the picture. love the wording. but you could of blurred the background
The depth of field in this photo turned out really well! The hands, the subject, are perfectly in focus. Great job of creating a point to focus on. The fact that the lighter areas of the photograph are the hands creates a nice contrast against the darker background. I like the way this photo was chosen to be taken, especially with the DOF. It emphasizes the words, not the person. If the person had been more included in the photo, it would have taken away from the message on the hands.
I love how this photo used a shallow depth of field, with the focus being on the hands. The contrast and lighting makes it to where it’s lighter on his hands, drawing more attention to them and the overall color being a more sepia tone. I also like how the hands display the message of “Live Free.” Also, I felt like the cropping fit perfectly with this picture because if you had the entire face in the photo, there would have been more focus drawn to that, rather than the hands.

This picture is super creative and portrays a “story” behind it. I like how you used the Depth of Field to narrow in on the hands which was your main subject. I like how you tweaked the coloring to give it a raw or rustic feel. I also like the lighting in the front of the picture because it highlights the words written on his fingers. I would have liked to see more of his face to make the picture more interesting, but other than that it’s a great picture!!

This picture is great. I love how you focused on the words and not the entire picture. The way this picture was taken creates a story behind the picture. It makes the viewer look into what kind of message the photographer is trying to send. You contrasted the image colors very well. Using sepia was a good choice. You even cropped the picture in way that allowed the viewer to focus on the writing.
