Up Close and Personal

Sidnee Lee I took this photo at the beginning of the year, but during a recent Photoshop lesson we learned different techniques on a black and white series. I chose the antique look to adjust this photo, because I thought that it would define the petals and the textures that the flower has. It also gives an older look that brings out the different tones of purples. I chose this picture because of not only the colors but the focus that it brings to the center of the flower.

I really like the old, antique feature you added to this photo. It is nicely in focus and the rule-of-thirds composition makes the flower stand out. Good job.

I really like this photo because I think it really encompasses the rule of thirds and depth of field. The colors in the flower are great as well. The texture makes the whole thing come together.

I really like how the subject is focusing on the flower. If I had to change anything, I would zoom in on the flower. I really like how the color pops out of the flower.

The depth of field of this photo is great! White balance may be a little off, but the violet tones look good. Rule of thirds was used effectively and the photo is framed nicely. The photo is a little dark but in this case it works, emphasizing the violet tones.

What I like about this photo is how the flower is totally in focus, and you can see every little vein in the flower.

The elements of composition used were filling the frame and sort of using rule of two thirds with the flower not directly in the center of the frame.

This photo has a shallow depth of field, with the flower in focus and everything behind it blurry and out of focus.

The mood reflected by this photo is serenity.
